India has landed an unmanned spacecraft on the moon, making them only the 4th entity to do so. Congratulations to them on their continued advancement in science and culture. The technology and engineering needed to do this still boggles my mind.
Funny thing though, there is this ownership of the moon I feel as an American – I suppose from being the first and most frequently returning country to do business on the moon – and I almost wanted to know if they asked our permission.
The whole thing is quite interesting. For the first 18 years of my life I was obsessed with space travel and science (my grandfather worked on three major NASA programs). For the United States’ manned missions to the moon there was less computing power employed than a modern scientific calculator. It is quite a feat to have landed men on the moon with far inferior technology.
PS. We ought to have colonized the moon. Think of it: Guam, Puerto Rico, Northern Marianas, Virgin Islands, Iraq, the Moon.
Let’s talk about dudes WALKING on the moon:
USA is NUMBER ONE AND NUMBER ONLY!
Take that Geronimo! Who do these indians think they are? In your DREAMCATCHERS!!!
Oh, the other ones. Like Kelly on The Office? Cool.
(PS All of this was written from a satirical perspective)
Greg,
Brilliant-and-a-half, my friend.
